Why did you become a DJ?
I remember I was watching the Tomorrowland 2014 live feed and Martin Garrix was playing on the mainstage. I learned that he was only 17 or 18 at the time and it blew me away that he was so young but had accomplished so much already. Just showed me that with hard work anyone can make it.
What / Who are your musical influences?
As I said above, Martin Garrix is a huge influence for me with his incredible performances at such a young age. Also how humble he is about his success; it’s incredible. Will Sparks is another huge influence for me aswell. His high energy in his music, sets, and performances are unreal and he creates such an awesome atmosphere. That is something that I really try and implement in my sets.
If you had to put one thing on your artist rider, what would it be?
To have a lot of fun when I’m playing. I don’t like to take the performances too seriously, I like to jump around, get on the mic and have a lot of fun with the crowd. I think that if you show that you’re having a good time by jumping and dancing then the crowd is a lot more inclined to do the same and it creates such a great time for the crowd and the DJ.
What is the largest crowd you’ve played in front of?
Just recently I had the chance to open for Breathe Carolina here in Ottawa at Barrymores Music Hall. The venue isn’t crazy big but the place was packed from wall to wall. My slot time was right before Breathe Carolina came on so when I was playing, there was about 150-200 people in the club.
Besides DJ’ing, what other hobbies do you have?
I play a lot of sports and being from Canada my number one sport is hockey. I’ve been playing since I was 7 but I also do enjoy playing golf and a couple other activities aswell. I’m a big food advocate and love to visit new places and not try different things. So when I’m not mixing or playing sports I’m probably eating!
